New release : little Frida faces

Combining free motion sewing, vintage fabrics and Frida Kahlo.
These have to be one of the most enjoyable (yet time consuming)
things that I make! There are now a variety of new boxed Frida
brooches in my Etsy store here. They all turn out very differently,
as it is very hard to sew so small and try to get them the same!xx

Hello!

What a long time to be absent from my blog space!!
Its a looong story, many things preventing us from having
Internet (landline/tv) for the last 3 months!
We moved into a brand new house in a brand new road,
and now eventually have the fibre connection we were expecting long ago.

It has been an interesting time.
Actually very good for us to experience no tv or internet. Its amazing how much you can get done, without these things to distract you! Its been so good for the girls too. They played a lot more together in the Christmas holidays. Were more imaginative with their play too, which was so great to see.

I haven't stopped with the 'makes'. I've been sharing them over on Instagram with my phone (the poor data reduced thing!) And will share some of them here too. Gosh it is so great to be typing on an actual keyboard again lol! Anyway, I've missed you and all your lovely blogs. It'll take me a while to catch up properly, but can't wait! Much love, and hope you're still interested in whats happening here!XXXJ

Two Years Blogging!

I started this blog two years ago today! Its been documenting the 'makes' and how the dolls have evolved. They have changed so much, and still are. The blog has been such a huge part of the creating, it keeps me motivated and helps me move onto other things. Its great to have a record of the custom orders here and look back at them, as well as the challenges and swaps with other bloggers. Making friends through the blogs has been an amazing experience, especially with us moving so much in this last year!

So instead of doing another giveaway -
there is free shipping on everything in my Etsy store till
Monday 28th November at 10pm (Qld time).
I can ship direct to - who you want to give to - this christmas!x

ps. just started working on the Blogtoberfest giveaway doll!

Blogtoberfest!

Every October Tinniegirl holds 'Blogtoberfest'.
Its where you can sign up to join in and blog (if you can) for every day of the month! Aargh - what a challenge! It will give everyone a chance to find new bloggers that they haven't met before and enter giveaways (over at Cam's).

This is my first time joining in and I don't have anything planned yet to blog about (as I've just decided to join this afternoon!) - apart from a giveaway I mentioned a while ago... better get onto that!

Anyway - if you want to have a go - sign up over here. I'm pretty sure that I won't manage to post EVERY day, so don't put pressure on yourself, but it'll be a bit of fun and a way for some of us to get our blogging mojo back again - I hope!

* loving how the poster above includes a vintage belt buckle (bottom right) that looks like the year of this challenge!x

Back Soon...

So we are moving to Australia, as the Mr has accepted a job there! When we have settled in a bit and I've plugged my sewing machine in again, I will be back on here. Maybe there'll be some new inspiration, living in a totally different place again. Its the right move for us, the next step. You've got to go where the opportunities are and make the most of things now!

If you are interested in seeing what we are up to - I've started a private blog (which sounds like a bit of a contradiction!). You'll need to let me know if you want to be able to log into that. Can't promise it'll be that interesting. Its probably going to be more of a record of things, for the children (and us) to look back on.

But I'll be back on my A Little Vintage blog as soon as I start making a few things again!

Because of our move, I am not able to put any dolls up for the Handmade Charity auctions for the Queensland Disaster Relief.  So I've sent off a bundle of dolls and softies to Steph for Hope Softies. They  will go directly to the children in the shelters, who have lost their homes and belongings. If you can make even one toy, please email Steph to get the address to send them to.
