Sewn Picasso portraits

 

I have been wanting to try this for ages.

Sewing some of Picasso's famous paintings

(as well as a painting of him, by one of his mistresses).

They are available now in my Etsy store as brooches!

Iris

These are tiny little sewn faces, where I've tried to get the look of Iris Apfel.

I might make the glasses a little bigger next time, but they're getting there!

They are one of a kind and come in a fabric covered box.

The Sign

I have made The Sign guitar before, to go with some Prince dolls.

But this time I've made them a bit smaller, so that they can be worn as brooches!

They are backed with two layers of stiffened felt so that they don't bend easily.

Back into the makes - here are the eye brooches I've been working on!

I did some handsewn eyes while I didn't have my sewing machine. 

But know I have it back again, these ones are free motion sewn of course!
