Thread drawn artworks

Here is my new range of wall art!
I've been working on some new thread drawn pieces  -
put in frames for your wall! They are available now over in my new Etsy store.
Or you can save on postage and get one from the markets I'm (hopefully) doing later on this year!

The eyes have it!

New eye bags in store, including some beaded lashes

and also blood shot eyes!

 

New eye wall hangings - had to have a go at this when I found

some beautiful loooong fringing! They are all one of a kind and use vintage embroideries with beads and free motion sewn fabrics.

Frida Kahlo textile art

I've eventually got these Frida Kahlo wall hangings in the shop!

The backing fabrics are really textured and bright, making them even more 3D.

Frida's face is free motion sewn so they are all different.

Three of them are based on Frida's self portraits.

Available over here as something a little different this Mothers Day!x

This new range of Frida textile art is a step up from the last.

With all Frida's dresses made from silk.

The last one shown here is very unusual, being a striped silk.

I think its my favourite of the lot!

Sewn wall art

With only one Frida Kahlo wall hanging left in the shop,

I've started on some new ones. This time they all feature silk dresses!

It feels like I have been working on these girls for a very long time, they have sort 

of taken over all my thoughts and time. I started making Frida wall hangings a while ago,

 but they were round hoops and Frida was just head and shoulders. 

These ones are hung on a wooden dowel and have their dresses 

blowing slightly to the side. There is one that is made from silk (gold). 

I think they will all be made with silk next time! 

I love the texture and reflection of light on 

her dress at different times of the day.

Its all about Frida here at the moment.
