A Little Custom Doll Giveaway

As part of this months Blogtoberfest I'm giving away a custom order doll!
Just leave a comment on this post telling me your ideas for a doll.

Would it be made from some sentimental fabrics? Maybe some trims from your wedding dress and your husbands wedding tie - or from your grandparents linens/notions? Or you could have one made from my fabrics, in your choice of colours/style. It could be for a child or just for show ...

What you comment here, doesn't have to be what you choose if you win the giveaway - just ideas! So let me know what you think. If you can't comment, then email me and I'll comment for you.

The giveaway ends on sunday October 16th.
Winner announced the next day.
Open to all countries.

Theres more Blogtoberfest giveaways over here too!xx

My nana just passed away and I have inherited some beautiful heirloom doilies which would be so beautifully preserved if they were incorporated into a doll. Also some blue fabric that she bought after my uncle was born, but never used and lots of cotton that she had hidden away.. Would be very sentimental!

great comp giveaway jennie :)

She is a red-head with beautiful brown eyes.
She loves to wear pink and try mummy's make-up.
She carries a small tattered used-to-be-white "blankie".
She is strong willed and feisty ... as all good red-heads should be.
She is loved!

It'd have to be a good old fashioned doll made with good old fashioned Gingham - I love gingham!!

Ohh, I just have to enter this giveaway! I still have a lot of my daughters baby clothes, and the dress she wore to her naming day, that would be lovely in one of your dolls!

Oooooo what a treat - I can see her body made of linen created from old tea towels, in shades of ecru, pink, lemon & duck egg blue with maybe a hint of mint, her dress is stitched entirely of delicate handmade lace doilies in antique white or clotted cream, she'll also be needing a cape, fashioned from lace gloves dyed green to match her eyes. Her name is Pearl and at the moment she lives in my head but not for long I hope!

Either strawberry-themed with some of my strawberry fabrics... Or Wonder Woman! What an awesome giveaway. :)

she'd be half english, half australian,
full of potential and love,
just like her mummies x

what a beautiful and generous giveaway! Happy Blogtoberfest x

She would have a dress made of Liberty fabric, the same as my engagement quilt. Blonde hair of course, little touches of pink, and be called B-fab! ;D

She would be an adventurous archeologist since I wanted to be one when I was a child. And she would wear steam punk styled clothing and interesting accessories. Her hair would be dark brown and she would keep it in a topknot. She would also wear a hat to shield her from the burning sun during excavations. :)

Well I suppose she would be wearing bikinis... navy blue with tiny stars and ruffles.... brown wavy hair and blue eyes. She would have to come with a mask snorkel and flippers because she loves to watch the beautiful fish. She would also come with her trusty beach towel, oversizes sunglasses a la breakfast at tiffany's and huge floppy sunhat a la carol carpenter.

Hmmm.... I am thinking burlesque. For me, not for the small.

I love your dolls. I keep promising myself that one I'm going to buy one from you. I'd love one made from vintage sheets with maybe a wee doiley for an apron!

Lola Nova said...

Ooh, how generous of you!

Now let's see...
My first thought was a little Mod doll, but then...
Maybe a a quirky librarian, or a 1940's lady about town...
Oh I know, an eclectic gal with flaming red hair and cowboy boots!

A lovely lady I know just passed away from cancer leaving a little girl (nearly 5) and a 2yr old boy. I suppose a heirloom doll using their Mummies clothing would be special.

Ooh...I've been thinking about this all morning. She would be for moi this time. I love the idea of fabric from husbands tie and have enough left over for dress + a remnant from mine. I have some antique lace to replicate(roughly) my style of dress. I also have some crystals from my dress, which could be for earrings. I would get a small cameo for doll to replicate my broach. Oh please pick me!!!!!

OOO this is hard, as I soo love what you do with them.
But I do love the thought of seeing you take on a raggedy Ann style doll ( or Andy for that matter) xo

Vic said...

Okay, so I wasn't going to comment because I feel so lucky to have a gorgeous girl already, BUT... I'm a greedy S.O.B so count me in. ;)

My pick would be something freaky & a challenge for you. I'm thinking circus, I'm thinking Siamese, I'm thinking bearded AND tattooed...!

My daughter is in the process of learning about her Scottish heritage. I am making a kilt outfit fancy dress for her, so it would be great to have a matching kilted doll, don't you think!

Cathie said...

oh Jennie, you are so wonderfully talented & generous!
I would love a little doll that looked like my little Miss, long golden browny blonde hair, big brown eyes and wearing the outfit she wore on her first birthday.
now that would definitely make me smile ♥

What a wonderful giveaway!
I have some well worn, slightly stained with paint, clothes that my daughters have worn on their nursery days. They are completely unuseable but I can't part with them as they remind me of such a large and happy part of their life. They would make great clothes for a messy looking doll - with messy hair and a dirty face! :D

I think I would give my niece one of your dolls that looked like her! She would love it!

I have had your dolls on the brain ever since you made one for your traveling friend Kate. (I read about it on her blog and that is how I found you.)

My wish for a doll is to have an adventurer like that dolly who would travel around with me and be up for any kind of highjinks.

She would have bobbed hair and and cute socks and shoes.

MooBear Designs said...

Found your blog again yay... You know it would all be sentimental and I think I would have one made of my husband because our kids just adore him!! Hehe

gosh I think she's got big blue eyes and an oversized bow on the side of her hair. I think she'll be wearing rainbow legwarmers and she has yellow hair. her name is Lulu. She's very cheeky. Your dollies are divine and I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about everyones dolly recipes. Gorgeous giveaway and fun way to do it as well.

I think this should be easy to say what type of doll I would love, but it is really hard. Using some special fabric or a momento or brooch (from my Grandma) would be lovely. She would have to have piggy tails and cute hair bobbles. Green eyes too. To be honest Jennie, I love all your dolls, they are all gorgeous :)

I'd love to make a "mini-me" doll for my niece - blond curly hair, big brown eyes. I had one when I was little and I loved her!

Some fabulous 70s fabric in green mini, maybe with some jeans and short hair.
Your dolls have such character, I'm sure you could make a treasure from anything.

I often see giveaways and unfortunately am usually unimpressed and can't be bothered entering because the prize isn't appealing. In this instance, that is not the case. This is probably THE coolest giveaway I have ever come across. Ever ever.

I would want to be selfish and have a mini me doll. Have a side part in my hair and have my pony tail off to the other side coming over my shoulder. Dark clothes with a fun bright coloured necklace or brooch, with a flower in my hair too. I can't forget my super long eyelashes either. Then to finish off, some cute brightly coloured ballet flats.

Thanks for your generosity!

I would love a doll that looked like my mother mid 1930s. She was a beauty and it would be a reminder of her.

Leonie said...

Oh wow! what an amazing giveaway!!

I would love one for my eldest daughter. She loves red and white polka dots and has her own style at the moment that I love. Id love a doll that represented 10 year old her for her to keep forever.

Wow, what a fabulous giveaway! I am a little torn tho between two ideas. The first would be for me, inspired by great photos I have of my great grandmother. She immigrated in 1911 (at the age of 14 by herself). I also have bits and bobs from her (a scarf, some jewelry). The second would be for my daughter, like so many others, I would love her to have a little "mini me":)Thanks again for the opportunity! Cyndy

A sewy-crafty girl, spools of thread, scissors, tape measure, fat quarters... Or maybe a vintage doll, or a sentimenatl doll made from wedding dress fabrics from me & Mom (just got married in April)

Count me in! I'd get one made for our Finnish Au Pair as a 'goodbye and thank you present'.

She has long dark hair and does look a bit like your dolls. She does the most perfect liquid eye-liner application I've ever seen!

I'd give you some of the scraps of fabric I have that I've used to make some of Martha's clothes. That way her doll would remind her of her time with us!

Thanks for the chance to enter, Jennie!
