My Creative Space - Wabbits!

In My Creative Space today, we have some fluffy earred wabbits (as Miss 3 would say).

Chocolate pockets again, but with some velvet/ric rac/embroidery trim this time.

Theres a train and also an aeroplane one for the boys.

I quite like this one, maybe because she looks overly tired (& I feel how she looks sometimes)!
Take a visit to Kirsty's to see more Creative Spaces.x

PS. How many martini glasses can you spot in this post??

Op Shop Finds

We found these lovely vintage inspired dishes at the oppy this week.

I used them at the local market on the weekend to hold some smaller items.

I also found a gorgeous Country Road cardy for Miss 8 - I can see the buttons being changed very soon! And a teeny tiny glass for the dolls.

And I've started on a big bunny softie for an art gallery shop made from some of my op shop doily finds! Pop over to Sophie's for more Flea Market Finds!

Dolls to Haiti!

(all these dolls by the amazing Sarah Hanson!)

Wow! Over 400 dolls have arrived in New York from all over the world, through Dolly Donations. The Abundant Ground Foundation will be shipping them to Haiti orphanages on 31st March. Isn't it amazing what the online community can do?

One of my girls wrote notes of hope to attach to the dolls we sent: 'Here is someone who loves you, and someone for you to love'. The Abundant Ground Foundation will be updating their website with news of the 'dolls delivery' soon!!

My Creative Space.

It feels like I haven't been getting much 'done' at all this week! (sewing-wise)
I have managed to set up an online shop with Felt at last. And was photographed with the dolls yesterday. Which was an experience - its usually just the dolls!
But I've started on another custom order for a brother and sister. I am making 2 of each - one set is for the grandmother! I'm making each set from one toddler outfit of each child, but with slight differences.

The brother has very tight curls, so I'm just seeing how it goes. Brown thread didn't really show up enough on the felt, so I ended up using dark grey. Its good to be challenged with something new. (!)

My Place & Yours: Pink!

Now I am not really a 'pink' person. But the last few days, someone else in our house has turned into a bit of a pink girl. So when I came across Hello Owls 'My Place & Yours' and saw the theme is Pink this week - I had to post these photos! The one above has been altered to be framed.

7am this morning, worshipping the pink high heel dress up shoes that she wants to wear to the shops today! She has worn the hat and skirt for the last 3 days. They are from our dress up box, but I think that hat is a proper milliners one from the early 60's!

And a little more pink here, with the lips. This was when I was first experimenting with free motion sewing. I must admit here, that apparently Miss G's favourite colour is still purple!

Giveaway.
Just to add, because of the positive response to the giveaway I'm doing at the moment - I'm going to make some runner up prizes too. So if you want to win a doll or a little vintage something else, then enter here!

A Little Vintage Giveaway!

I've been wanting to do a giveaway for a while now. So after 3 months of blogging, here it is! Up for grabs is this girl made from vintage kiwiana fabric, felt and tea stained calico. She is stuffed with new polyester fibre fill. Her face is handpainted, then heat set and her arms & legs are doubled stitched for durability (yes, shes been through a bit in life already!). I'll also include 5 doll greeting cards as well!

All you need to do to win her, is leave a comment with your suggestions for dolls names eg: Miss Gretl/Master Edward (1 or 2 is fine). Make sure you include your email or link to your blog etc. If you don't have a blog or google account, just email me through my profile on the left!

If you mention the giveaway on your blog/facebook etc, you'll get 2 entries (just let me know you have done so). You have until sunday March 21st 10pm (NZ). The winner will be chosen randomly and announced on tuesday March 23rd. Entries from all countries accepted! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

My Creative Space.

I've been working on a few different things this week. I've just finished these custom brother and sister dolls.

Also two little bunnies, produced in double quick time (didn't have time to stitch the faces, so painted them instead). For Miss E to take for the school easter raffle.

And this is something I'm hoping to finish for a little giveaway to post here tomorrow!
Go and have a nosey at some other Creative Spaces at Kirsty's!
