Photoshoot.

These are just a few shots from our photoshoot (with some of the faces from the previous post). Certain people kept trying to dip their toes in the milk jug, which held up the proceedings somewhat. The red head is looking a bit nervous...

We were going for the 'un-ironed background' effect!

Blokes

With Valentines fast approaching, I thought I had better make some more boys!

I am still finding their faces a challenge, as I am more used to painting the girls.

Maybe they need bushier eyebrows?

I wanted to go to Art School.

I instead went to the other side of the world.

These are all from school sketch books of mine from the ages of 14-17 years old.

Most would be projects we had to do.

I really didn't like doing self portraits. (so I used sickly colours on this one!)

Nana Walker. I drew this the year that Grandad passed away(I was 16). She has a hint of a train brooch at her neck to remember him.

Crafty Opinions Please!

I'm stuck. And I don't know what to do...

Its these finishing touches sometimes that are really hard to decide on! I've nearly finished making a doll for my nieces birthday. Its made from 2 of her baby dresses. (the back is purple)

I don't usually put a necklace, earrings and hairclip/tie on the dolls all at once!
So let me know if you have an opinion on what looks good here. (her favourite colour is purple)

Purple earrings or the black heart ones? Keep the hair tie ?
I think the necklace is staying at the moment.

This girl has to be sent off to London in a few days to get there on time!
(PS. those are yellow pins holding her head together)

Weekend Markets

After a great day at Crafternoon Tea in Kingsland yesterday, I managed to get a last minute spot at Sale Street Market in the city today.

Its a great location, inside Sale St Bar. With music, a lovely outdoor eating area and loads of atmosphere!

The lovely Hayley (hiding behind her newspaper!) and her wool rug cushions.

It was great to see more clothes at this market, some beautiful cocktail/ball dresses, that can be custom made. Also cotton summer dresses made from some great fabrics. It was also great to see 0 to 2 who make childrens clothes from beautiful linen mix fabrics. All from vintage patterns.
So check it out, every sunday from 10am-3pm. Sale St Bar in Aucklands CBD.
