... I've eventually covered a lampshade for this op shop base I found a while ago, with some vintage curtain fabric. (my very favourite)
On the inside -
I covered the seam with some navy ribbon,
and used the original curtain seam for the back of the lampshade.
Typical, I suddenly decide to do this, just when there is a long list of other things to do!
It works really well next to grandad's old chair, and ontop of the girl's dress up box.
Pop over and see whats happening at some other places at Lou's today.x

Wow, your lampshade is so beautiful! I love old wooden furniture and the like, so classic.
It looks great. The top photo with the lamp base on the fabric looks awesome. What a great technique. x
It looks fantastic! Such gorgeous fabric. Isn't it always the way, you get hit with a flood of inspiration just when there are so many other things to do...
great job - I love the fabric and it looks great in it's new home :)
I say do the stuff you like first ;)
You are very clever! It sounds like much more fun to do that than other things on your list - no wonder you were inspired to do it now.
Thanks for joining in again this week! Lou.
Oh Jennie - it's truly fabulous! I love that fabric too :) Kx

It's always more fun to do things that make us smile.
happy week Ms Jennie

Oh wow what a great job looks great!!
That fabric is really lovely Jennie. So vintage and it so makes the whole lamp. Great job!
Not sure if the response function on my Disqus comment form on my blog is working properly at the mo, but I did say in my reply that if you like me to send you the url for the instructions, for the edging on the teatowel, that I found on the internet, just email me and I'd be happy to send it on.
Thanks so much for your visit. :)
The fabric is perfect your the style of the lamp. You are very creative.
